Seven Ocean Shipping is reputed in imparting graduate marine engineering (GME) 1 year course for graduates. This one year Pre-sea training course is suitable for graduates, leading them to become Class IV Certified Marine Engineer Officer. The GME Course is honored by the Directorate General of Shipping after the successful completion of the 1 year course candidates can join as Junior Engineers onboard vessels.

The GME course is intended for qualified applicants who have a four year college education in mechanical engineering or in marine engineering. Graduates from this course proceed to become chief engineers, who are responsible for all the machinery onboard a vessel.

 

Duration :

1 Year (52 weeks) – Residential Course

Entry Requirements : 

Age: Not more than 28 years at the time of commencement of the course.

Note: 1. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) Category shall be relaxed by 5 years.
2. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to Non–creamy layer of Other Backward Classes (OBC) Category shall be relaxed by 3 Years.

3. The maximum age limit for women candidates of each Category shall be relaxed by additional 2 Years.

Mode of Selection :

Entrance Examination, Personal Interview and Medical Fitness

Medical Standard :

Candidate should be physically fit for sea service under DGS standard norms, with eyesight up to 6/12 in both eyes or 6/9 in better eye, 6/18 in other eye and with no colour blindness.
